Peach House Restaurant
The popular Peach House Restaurant is situated in the Victorian Peach House that was built about 1895 to grow peaches and other fruit for Earl Ferrers who resided in Staunton Harold Hall at the time. The estate was sold off by the Ferrers family in 1955 and the new owner of the nursery, Stan Watson, used it to grow tomatos in from 1955 to 1990. The nursery was then purhcased by its present owner, Mark Earp, in 1990 who converted into a restaurant in 1994. At that time it was just the original upper floor level with about 50 covers. That section was re-furbished in 2002 and then the lower half extension was added in 2016 which increased the amount of covers to 120.
The restaurant serves freshly cooked breakfasts, lunches and teas every day. It is open from 9.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Saturday and from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm on Sundays. Hot meals are served until 3.30pm each day. There is also an outdoor seating area for warm sunny days. The menu is large and varied with many of the traditional favourites such as haddock, gammon and scampi but also daily specials for something different. For those wanting a low fat option jacket potatoes with a range of filling sand salads are always available. There are also very reasonably priced children's meals.
